Patterico has a great compilation of the LA Times' more ... god, I need a word here ... infuriating ... examples of the 'intellectual rigor and emotional self-discipline' we got from the Times this year.
Me, I've started to read the SJ Mercury News and the Bee online.

Just trying to "gather and report facts" so I can "serve the public interest" -- though no doubt I cannot live up to the high standards of Mr. Rutten.
The only parts of the LA Times I read are the funnies, the chess column, and the crosswords. Everything else seems to me to be birdcage fodder.
I like the bridge column, too.
