Less than 36 hours before the elections, Iran's mullahs have closed the most popular reformist papers, Shargh and Yaas-e No. The reason seems to be publishing the letter that protesting MPs had written to the Leader, Khamanei. It's said that Hassan Rowhani, head of the National Security Council, had ordered all papers not to publish the letter, but Shargh and Yaas-e No had done so anyway.
I have more links over at my English blog.

Vive la Revolution!
Keep in mind that Rowhani's been floated as the likely man to replace Khatami either in 2005 or immediately if the hardliners decide to just impeach him and be done with it. Of course, Rafsanjani and Khamenei will still actually rule the country like they do now, but their current front-man appears to be a lot more of a blackshirt than his predecessor.
